Urban logistics systems

How can cities be supplied with goods in the future? In order to meet the major challenges of our time, it is necessary to think big. That's why the FC Group develops urban logistics concepts and feasibility studies, for example to realise underground goods transport.

Hospital 4.0

The German healthcare system is undergoing structural change due to demographic change and a shortage of skilled labour. Digitalisation and automation offer solutions, but require customised approaches in hospitals, where the focus is on individual diagnosis and therapy processes. Holistic concepts are crucial for successful digitalisation, from patient care to goods logistics.

Automated goods transport

The automated guided vehicle system (AGV) has established itself as a logistics solution, particularly in large hospitals. An AGV is a computer-controlled conveyor system in which several vehicles move automatically along defined routes.

Sustainable logistics systems

The FC Group focuses on sustainability for efficient and environmentally friendly logistics systems. We rely on environmentally friendly technologies and integrate concepts that prevent the waste of resources. As proud members of the DGNB and the USGBC, we contribute our expertise in green building certifications. We support you from concept development to certification and offer comprehensive advice on energy audits.

Lean logistics

Lean management aims to avoid waste by optimising processes. In the field of lean logistics, lean methods are used to eliminate non-value-adding activities and achieve an efficient organisation of all processes, including material transport and warehouse planning. The aim is customer-orientated and economical system planning, which reduces costs and increases customer satisfaction.

Intelligent linking

In addition to the automated guided vehicle system, which is used for large-volume and plannable transport in hospitals, other automated goods transport systems are also available. By combining different systems, such as pneumatic tube systems or small conveyor systems, the comprehensive potential of digitalisation can be optimally exploited in hospitals.

Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital Logistics study

The Karlsruhe Municipal Hospital (SKK) commissioned the FC Group to carry out a logistics study. Extensive construction measures resulted in a reorganisation of the logistics flows on the campus site, which is why a redesign of the transport systems used was considered. As part of a feasibility study, the FC Group first analysed the current status of the SKK, forecast future transport requirements and evaluated the introduction of an automated guided vehicle system (AGV) from a technical, organisational and economic perspective. The results were presented to the hospital's management as a recommendation for action.

Robert Bosch Hospital

As part of the new building on the campus of the Robert Bosch Hospital in Stuttgart, the FC Group is responsible for planning the lifts, container weighing system, pneumatic tube system and automated guided vehicles (AGV). The focus is on the optimal design of the material flow for different goods with specific requirements in different transport containers, such as pharmacy goods.

Knuspr - Rohlik Group

The Rohlik Group is one of the leading online grocery retailers in Central Europe. With a company valuation of 1 billion euros, Rohlik is one of the fastest growing start-ups in Europe and can call itself the youngest of around 50 unicorns across Europe. As part of the Rohlik Group, the FC Group supports the company "knuspr" in the planning and project management of its Germany-wide expansion. Currently, an approx. 9,000 m² warehouse in the Frankfurt area is being refurbished within a few months. In addition to a new bakery, an approx. 2,500 m² cold store with state-of-the-art and climate-friendly CO2 refrigeration technology is being built.

Gasteig Munich

As part of the planning team for the new Gasteig, led by HENN Architekten and AEC3 Germany, the FC Group has been named BIM Champion 2021 in the planning category. The BIM Champion Award is presented once a year by buildingSMART Germany. The new Gasteig is the general refurbishment of Europe's largest cultural centre in Munich with 1.8 million visitors a year. The Gasteig is home to the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, the University of Music and Theatre and the Munich City Library. The FC Group is developing and planning the library's internal book and media logistics using a rail-bound small goods transport system.

Rhine Ordnance Barracks

On the US military site east of Ramstein Airport, a large supra-regional hospital is being built for US military personnel. The clinic will provide medical care for wounded soldiers from Europe, Asia and Africa and the approximately 60,000 US citizens living in southern Germany. The new building will house 120 examination and treatment rooms, around 70 beds and nine operating theaters. A facade access system will be used to clean and maintain the building envelope.
